Wild Rice Split Pea Soup
If you like split pea soup, you'll love this soup. Wild rice adds a nutty flavor that enhances the hearty, protein-packed soup. Cook with a leftover ham bone or not--our special seasonings make this a vegetarian delight.
Makes a big pot of soup. 2+ quarts
Cooking Directions:
Rinse split peas and put into a pot (or crockpot) with 10 cups water. Add remaining package ingredients. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer approximately 2 hours or until desired consistency is reached. (Crockpot High for 4 to 6 hours, or Low 8 to 12 hours). Remove bay leaf. Adjust seasonings to taste.
