I am an emerging artist in Bemidji, Minnesota. I have recently retired after 38 years working for Minnesota State Parks and an additional 6 years as Beltrami County’s Park Director. Although I have worked extensively in recreation and the natural resources, I have also been a landscape architect. During my career my family has always had its own landscape and recreation business serving Northern Minnesota.
This background experience contributes to my love for nature and recreation. I have had the opportunity to visit every one of our Minnesota’s State Parks and the North Shore of Minnesota many times during my career with the Department of Natural Resources. These experiences have helped to develop the subjects I now paint that are primarily focused on nature, history and recreation.
My goal is to keep developing my artistic skills by painting each day and having the opportunity to paint with other wonderful artists in the Bemidji area. I am extremely lucky to live in Bemidji, Minnesota that has one of the best art communities in the nation. Many local artists have supported my work and have been an encouragement for me.
My objective is to keep painting and trying to have my paintings enjoyed by others. To achieve this goal I try to do showings, enter art shows and sell my paintings at Bemidji’s Art in The Park.
